Terminalia arjuna is found and planted along river banks, tank bunds. It helps to reduce soil erosion.

Terminalia arjuna is intercropped with coconut and citrus in agroforestry systems and it is also used as a shade tree in coffee plantations.

The tree is widely planted for its large shade and its beauty in parks and in avenues.

The bark of Terminalia arjuna is used to assist precipitation of mud from turbid water.
