The wood of Terminalia arjuna is very hard. It is used for house building, carts, axles, agricultural implements, well construction, boat construction...

The bark and the fruits are used for tanning and dyeing.

The bark contains a large amount of lime (calcium carbonate) and it is often burnt to produce lime for chewing with betel.
